adapt
Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
The short version: adapt has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
Your data stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and I never get a copy of it.
Who's responsible
adapt is a free hobby project in closed alpha, run by Vy, a private person in
Switzerland. For anything about your data, write to
crepe.cosine_26@icloud.com.
What adapt handles, on your device
-
Workouts you record: type, time, sets, distance and heart rate. For
outdoor workouts, also your GPS route. The app uses your location only while a
workout is recording.
-
Apple Health, only for what you allow: adapt reads workouts,
routes, heart rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, respiratory rate,
blood oxygen, wrist temperature, sleep, steps and active energy. It saves the
workouts you record, with their route, distance and energy, back to Health.
-
Whoop, if you connect it: your recovery, sleep, strain, workouts,
profile and body measurements, which the app downloads straight from Whoop.
-
Hevy, if you connect it: your workouts, which the app downloads
straight from Hevy with the API key you paste in.
All of this is kept in the app's storage on your iPhone. Sign-in tokens and API keys are
kept in the iOS Keychain. Your iPhone's own backups (to iCloud or a computer) may
include it, as they do for any app.
Health data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with anyone.
What leaves your device
-
Requests to Whoop and Hevy, made from your phone to fetch your own
data. They're governed by those services' own privacy policies.
-
Whoop sign-in. Whoop requires a secret to sign in, and an app can't
keep one safe, so signing in with Whoop, and renewing that sign-in, goes through
this website's server (adapt.vysoserious.com). It passes the sign-in between Whoop
and the app without logging or storing it. The site runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare,
Inc., USA), which processes your IP address to deliver and protect it.
-
Maps are drawn with Apple Maps, under
Apple's privacy policy.
Your control
-
Disconnecting Whoop or Hevy in the app removes its sign-in. You can choose to delete
the data it brought in, too.
-
You can change or withdraw Health and location access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
-
Under Swiss law (and the GDPR, if it applies to you), you can ask what data about
you is processed and have it corrected or deleted. Since adapt doesn't hold your
data, there's usually nothing on my side, but just write if you want to check.
Changes
